Events Intern

The Nebraska Ethanol Board is seeking an events intern to support the ongoing promotional efforts of the board. The student will work directly with the public information officer, program manager and marketing manager at public events. No office time is required – student attends events and provides staffing support. Student must be reliable and arrive on-time.

Stipend: $1,000

Responsibilities:

  • Work as event staff
  • Assist in setting up of promotional events
  • Help promote events and the American Ethanol brand through social media

Tentative Summer Events:

  • Renewable Fuels Month — May (Two Friday night events-Omaha)
  • Speedee Mart Flex Fuel Grand Opening (May 12 or 13- Norfolk)
  • Saltdogs Baseball Ag Night (June 8-Lincoln)
  • Storm Chasers Baseball Ag Night (July 19-Omaha)
  • Formula SAE Lincoln Competition (June 21-Lincoln)
  • Nebraska Junior Charloais Show (June 22-Grand Island)
  • Nebraska Ethanol Board Meeting (July-TBA)
  • Statewide Flex Fuel Pump Openings (Summer-TBA)

Requirements:

  • Current undergraduate student at Lincoln college or university
  • Outgoing, social personality – unafraid to talk with public about renewable fuels
    • Educational packet will be provided on ethanol information
  • Ability to work/attend at least 7 of the 10 events throughout the summer
  • Reliable means of transportation to get to events (a ride will be provided for most of the Omaha events)
