LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska Ethanol Board will meet Thursday, March 29, at 8:30 a.m. The meeting will be held in Grand Island at the Bosselman Enterprises Headquarters (1607 S. Locust St.) in the community meeting room.
The board welcomes Kevin Roberson, poultry nutritionist with Michael Foods in Wakefield, Nebraska, as the keynote speaker during the board meeting. Roberson will discuss distillers grains and the changing feed rations used in poultry operations.
Roberson has a Ph. D in nutrition from North Carolina State University’s Poultry Science Department. For his dissertation, he studied leg abnormalities in broilers and turkeys, and went on to study the effect of vitamin D on phosphorus utilization and leg problems in broilers for his post-doctoral research.
Since 1994, Roberson has been working in consulting and teaching at universities on poultry feeding. He has been with Michael Foods since 2005, focusing on weekly feed formulations, feed ingredient quality and field research. Roberson is a native of Nashville, Tennessee, and currently resides in Wayne, Nebraska.
