Operations

Overview

Nebraska is the only state in the U.S. with a government agency devoted solely to the development and support of its ethanol industry. To fulfill our statutory mission we divide our operations into five core pillars:

  • Ethanol Industry Support: Directed at attracting private manufacturing facilities to Nebraska, the expansion of existing facilities, and the creation of a favorable climate for continued industry growth in the state.
  • Policy and Regulatory Affairs: Advocating for favorable state and national policies to support ethanol production and use. Includes participating in the processes of local, state, and federal governing bodies and regulatory agencies.
  • Research: Identification of research initiatives that directly affect industry viability in consultation with technical advisory, academic, and private sector partners.
  • Promotion and Education: Designed to communicate and promote the ethanol industry’s value from economic, agricultural, environmental, and national security perspectives.
  • Market Development: Programs to assist in developing and expanding markets for Nebraska-produced ethanol and related co-products.
