NEB provides ethanol industry support by attracting biomanufacturing opportunities to Nebraska, expansion of existing facilities, and providing assistance and training regarding operations, environment, health, and safety considerations. This is done through:
Subject Matter Expertise (1971-present): Serve as ethanol subject matter experts for producers, legislators, citizens, educators, etc. Also serve as a primary ethanol industry resource to Governor’s Office, Department of Agriculture, Department of Economic Development, Department of Environment & Energy, Corn Board, Wheat Board, Sorghum Board, Nebraska Soybean Board, U.S. EPA, U.S. Department of Energy, and U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Industry Assistance Program (1971-present): Programs include recruitment of new and expanded production facilities; site selection assistance; regulatory compliance assistance; development of training programs for industry personnel; development of facility security and safety protocols; assistance to local governments; and maintain a comprehensive, historical industry database resource.
Emerging Issues Forum (2006-present): Annual conference featuring two days of speakers presenting on current and emerging topics in ethanol and biofuels industries.
EHS Summit & Committee (2004-present): Annual conference featuring presentations from regulators and experts on relevant and critical topics in environment, health, and safety. Hold quarterly meetings among Nebraska ethanol EHS personnel to discuss common issues in safety, with expert speakers for relevant topics.
