Which producer will be the next Cancer Crusader?
Please join us as we educate Nebraskans about healthier fuel options with ethanol and raise money for cancer research. Since 2018, the Fuel the Cure campaign has raised $64,572 for the Fred and Pamela Buffett Cancer Center in Omaha, a nationally distinguished cancer facility.
Fuel the Cure also sponsors the American Cancer Society of Nebraska’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk and provides vital funding to the Heartland Cancer Foundation, assisting over 300 Nebraska cancer patients with fuel costs by way of ethanol gift cards.
Why be part of Fuel the Cure?
Your work as an ethanol producer provides the key ingredient needed to reduce cancer-causing aromatics in gasoline. Your participation in Fuel the Cure raises awareness of ethanol's many benefits and helps drive consumers to the pump!
How to participate:
1. Sign your up your plant and promote Fuel the Cure! Designate one person from your ethanol plant as the main contact for the Fuel the Cure campaign fundraiser and email Traci Menke, Renewable Fuels Nebraska. Your role will be to market the campaign at your plant and in the community and communicate with Traci how the plant is promoting. By participating, your plant will be eligible to win the annual Cancer Crusader award - which includes recognition, your name on the traveling plaque, and a refreshment break at your facility.
2. Fill up with ethanol at participating retail locations all month long!
Participating Nebraska fuel retailers will donate 3 cents of every gallon of higher ethanol blends sold during the month of October to the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center. Learn more.
3. Join us at the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk
Fuel the Cure is proud to be a Silver Sponsor and a participant of the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Lincoln walk. Stop by our booth, walk with us, or contribute swag as we educate about healthier fuel options with ethanol and host giveaways. Making Strides is a noncompetitive 5K that unites communities to honor and celebrate breast cancer survivors. Sign up to be part of the Fuel the Cure walking team here.
